Someone in this video mentions that we only vote once every four years. Well that isn't accurate. We have opportunities to vote just about every year, occasionally more than once a year. There are national elections every two years. Elections are about much more than selecting the president of our country. That certainly is important, but there are federal Senators and Congressmen, state Governors, state legislators, county and other local officials, state and local initiatives... and they are ALL
important in EVERY election!!!.

Four years ago we had the largest voter turnout in 40 years. A large majority voted for change. Then many of those voters went home and passively waited for the change they wanted... figuring it was now up to someone else to make it happen. Two years went by... the people who didn't like the result of the preceding federal election turned out in droves... many of the people who voted for change two years earlier were not paying attention... they stayed home... the result... unprecedented obstructionism... and a wave of state laws that none of the people who stayed home anticipated. Many of those laws laws were aimed at making it more difficult for some people to vote... especially, young voters, minority voters, and people who stayed home thinking that casting only one vote was all they would need to do to bring about the changes they want. Every American, regardless of party affiliation, should be outraged by voter suppression! If you are one of the people targeted by voter suppression laws, your outrage should make you more determined than ever to cast your vote!!!

If you are now telling yourself, "Everything is so broken that my vote will not make a difference." ... then YOU ARE PART OF THE REASON THINGS ARE BROKEN! Please don't do that... Don't allow America to die of cynicism and apathy. Please...
